Who is it for?


Individuals over 18 years of age who wish to work towards a national qualification, Personal Trainers/Advanced Instructors seeking to enhance their qualifications.

Course Aim


Provides candidates with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for planning, delivering and evaluating a safe, effective and progressive programme for referred clients with specific controlled conditions.

Course Content


  • Medical conditions, medications and exercise implications, benefits of related exercise
  • Lifestyle health and government policy, behaviour change and motivational interviewing, progressive programming and setting up co-ordinating referral schemes for referred clients with controlled medical conditions
  • Referrals to exercise, session structure and content, evaluating the instruction process

Pre-requsites


  • One current Level 2 qualification in a related area e.g. Gym, Exercise To Music, Aqua, Circuits
  • Level 3 Advanced Fitness Instructor qualification
  • Current CPR/HSE approved certificate
